Congenital heart disease in children and adults

Our work combines statistical analysis, mathematical modelling and detailed work with clinical teams, patients, families, commissioners and audit bodies to understand, improve and communicate outcomes for children and adults living with congenital heart disease.

Health protection

We often work on projects commissioned by the UK Department of Health that address national questions such as the organisation of immunisation programmes or preparedness for pandemics and other health emergencies.

Embedded operational researchers within health care teams

We have between 1 and 3 researchers embedded within health care teams at any one time, spending a few days a week on site helping teams achieve their goals.

Operational Research to support health services

We use a variety of operational research techniques such as optimisation, mathematical models and soft systems analysis to support health services in planning and service configuration decisions.

Data Science in healthcare and industrial applications

We develop uncertainty quantification methods and algorithms to support clinical and industrial decision making. In doing these, we work closely with stakeholders in the health services, government and industry.
