School academic staff are research-active, with research at the heart of our taught curriculum. Students are encouraged to be proactive in their learning and make valuable contributions to School research.

Through independent research projects, students develop high-level critical analysis, research skills, and build networks to establish the foundations for future academic collaborations.

Undergraduate students may consider continuing their studies at the Department on one of our postgraduate degrees, and our research degrees recruit the most highly motivated and academically rigorous students to the most advanced level of study available at UCL.
