Research summary
Kamal's current research focuses on risk management and resilience in transport and in particular maritime systems and its dependent supply chain. His research interests include accessibility planning and measurement, road safety, transport/social impact assessments, decision support tools for transport policy and risk analysis, participatory methods, simulation modelling and GIS-T.

Biography
Kamal is a lecturer in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering at UCL. He joined in 2006 as a Research Fellow and has worked on several projects funded by EPSRC, ESRC, and NERC. His collaborations include the Department for Transport, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, ABP Ports, Ports of Dover and London, British Library, and UK Council Authorities. Prior to UCL, Kamal worked as a Research Engineer at the Traffic Engineering Laboratory at the National University of Singapore.
