Developing new methods and bringing improvements to the building industry
Henry Zhu joins the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatric Engineering as a research assistant. He will be working with Professor Dina D'Ayala on research in waterproofing of cavity walls. This will explore and research on waterproofing in and out of the market developing new methods and bringing improvements to the building industry.
Henry Zhu has a background in civil engineering, he is particularly interested and focused in structural and material engineering while trying to identify the most efficient, economic and elegant solutions in design and construction. He has an MSc in Modern Building Design at University of Bath. His knowledge in architecture and creativity in design was greatly strengthened during his studies and through working with architects while keeping an analytical thought as an engineer. He has also developed skills in sustainable design applied to different standards including BREEAM, LEED and Passivehaus.
