Gareth Boyes joins CEGE to teach on the new MSc Geospatial Sciences

Gareth has started working for the CEGE department as a part-time teaching fellow. He will be preparing course material for the new Geospatial Programming module being developed for the new Geospatial Sciences MSc. As well as other teaching responsibilities, his general duties will include MSc supervision and a student tutoring. In the other 50% of his time, he will be finishing his PhD.

Gareth first joined the department in 2013 enrolling on the MSc in GIS and then embarking on a PhD investigating whether internal spaces provide a suitable spatial location for determining spatial relationships between assets in BIM and 3D GIS environments. From his work in BIM/GIS integration he has become a fervent Phythonista and Feature Manipulation Engine champion. Before arriving at UCL, his background has included marine systems engineering and maritime law.​
