Building links with Ovidius University in Constanta, Romania

Dorina Dascalopol, is laboratory assistant in the Hydraulic and Hydraulic Machinery Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ovidius University in Constanta, Romania. She was awarded an Erasmus and Mobility Scholarship which enabled her to visit CEGE in April for three days to find out how we use our laboratories to support our students and researchers in their work – putting theory into practice.

Leslie Ansdell, teaching and research and development technician gave a tour of the laboratories with demonstrations of the latest equipment. She also met with students on undergraduate and postgraduate masters and doctoral courses, seeing how students and researchers learnt through practical experience using the latest generation of equipment.

During the three days she spent here, she was very pleased with everything, from the people to the facilities and the work atmosphere and found the experience enriching. She is now working with Dr Beatrice Baudet on strengthening links with Ovidius University in Constanta.
