Lijuan Hu 扈李娟 is a visiting scholar from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China, and also an Honorary Research Associate of UCL. With a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as English, she has been doing research in the field of TCM translation, specializing in the translation of four-character phrases (a very common Chinese idiom structure) in TCM. Currently she is analyzing the translation strategies of four-character TCM terminology based on different international standards, using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Her personal interests also include translating TCM literature, and some books translated by her are available now, such as Heat-Sensitive Moxibustion (Beijing: People's Medical Publishing House, 2013).
