We are delighted to announce that our Head of Chemical Engineering, Professor Marc Olivier Coppens has been selected to receive the 2017 PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Particle Technology Forum (PTF).

PTF serves as an interdisciplinary, international forum to promote information exchange, scholarship, research, and education in the field of particle technology.

The PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization recognises Marc-Olivier’s outstanding scientific and technical research contributions with impact in the field of fluidization and fluid-particle flow systems. In particular, he is receiving the award for the “introduction of nature-inspired approaches to structure fluidized beds (including fractal injector and regular bubble pattern formation by gas-pulsation), facilitating scale-up, increasing performance, and providing fundamental insights.”

The award will be presented at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, at the Particle Technology Forum dinner on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

The Department of Chemical Engineering would like to formally congratulate Marc-Olivier for this fantastic achievement.
