UCL Changemakers

ChangeMakers Student Fellows

Work in partnership with staff across UCL Education and Student Experience to make an impact on education across UCL through a pilot programme of paid Student Fellow roles.

What is the ChangeMakers Student Fellows scheme?

The ChangeMakers Student Fellow scheme is new for 21/22. This new paid role gets students working across the UCL Education and Student Experience team to ensure students are influencing change at an institutional level.

Why have Student Fellows?

We wanted to shape the Student Fellows scheme as an opportunity for students to build on the skills and experiences they have developed so far through other roles at UCL (or elsewhere).

Who are the ChangeMakers Student Fellows?

How does it work?

We're in a pilot phase at the moment but this year we are looking to both involve students in core projects where partnerships with students will add a huge amount of value to that work. Our Student Fellows will also be encouraged and supported to follow their interests and lead on particular areas of work within the core projects and take up other ad-hoc projects.

Core projects for 21/22

  1. Develop a 'Learning Community' project.
  2. Take a leading role in organising the Change Agents Network conference.
  3. Champion student engagement work in your faculty (UG/PGT).
  4. Review the Arena (staff development) programme with the Arena team.
