UCL at the World Engineering Education Forum

Within an hour of landing at the University of Cape Town, Co-Director of the Centre for Engineering Education Professor John Mitchell participated in a workshop between Industry, Educators and the South African Accrediting body ECSA. The afternoon and the next three days where spent in the company of the core team of the Innovative Engineering Curriculum Project. A combination of mid-project review, future planing meeting and writing retreat saw a weekend of discussion and debate, interspersed with hikes and great food. John then attended the World Engineering Education Forum & Global Engineering Dean's Council (WEEF & GEDC) conference 2022. The first time he had attended, it was an intriguing mix of students, engineering education staff, Deans and representatives of industry. John says, "it was refreshing to see remarkable alignment from all those groups of where engineering education should be heading, and plenty of inspiring discussion of how to get there".
