  1. What is a particularly important skill you look for in candidates, and why is it important?

In the ever-evolving fintech space, the skills we seek transcend specific job roles. While the requirements may vary, there are foundational attributes that we consider indispensable across the board. Adaptability, resilience, critical thinking, analytical skills, collaborative mindset, and a strong grasp of digital skills, are the cornerstones of growth and success in our fast-paced, demanding, and highly competitive industry. 1. How do you look for evidence of this skill in application / interview stages?

Our interview process is geared toward finding tangible examples of the work candidates have performed, that make a compelling case for their competencies and expertise. Interviewees are urged to highlight specific and relevant experiences to showcase how they navigated challenges or setbacks, how they adjusted to overcome them and grown in the process. We use case studies and scenarios to gauge candidates' problem-solving abilities and assess how they apply their skills in real-world situations. Another tip to help candidates put their best foot forward in the application process and make their profile stand out is to include a personal portfolio in their CV to demonstrate relevant projects, achievements, or technical expertise.

  1. What are some ways you would suggest a student, or recent graduate, could develop this skill?

To nurture and enhance these skills, we encourage candidates to approach challenges with curiosity, as opportunities to learn and grow, to seek constructive feedback on their work and view feedback as a valuable tool for personal and professional development. Fintech is a rapidly evolving field and staying updated is key. This requires embracing, at an early career stage, a growth mindset and a commitment to ongoing learning and upskilling, by acquiring or improving skills, tracking industry trends and developments, and gaining relevant certifications. Candidates are also encouraged to follow thought leaders and experts, entrepreneurs, coaches, and other influential voices in technology and innovation on social media to gain inspiration and insights.
