People working in an office at night

16 November 2022

What does a normal working day look like for you?

No two days are the same! One day I will be planning the launch of some new exciting innovation for my retailer (a recent one was the new Gillette Labs razor), the next I will be analysing my business performance and financials and identifying opportunities for growth.

What is the most challenging part of your work?

On Day 1 you are put in charge of a multimillion pound business which at first seems daunting! However, there is an extensive development programme as well as a dedicated network to support you in taking on the challenge.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

Working on a huge plan to launch innovation, seeing it come to life in stores up and down the country, and then seeing the hard work pay off!

What advice would you give someone looking to move into a role like your own?

Experience is invaluable. While none of our graduate schemes directly require previous work experience, it can make your interview much easier if you have past experiences to draw from, whether that be from university projects, sports teams, volunteering, hobbies or employment.

What is something that would surprise someone to know about your role?

Sales is at P&G is not hardcore sales like cold calling - in fact, it is more about managing your own business! Whilst selling is a huge part of our role and we spend a lot of time building relationships externally and selling in new plans and innovation, we also spend a lot of time analysing data and reviewing our financial performance.
