The Director's office is made up of our Director, Karen Barnard, as well as Data Analyst Katy Coyte.
Meet the Director's Office
- Karen Barnard, Director
Karen has been Director of UCL Careers since 2004. She has overall responsibility for the strategic development of employability education across UCL, supporting all UCL students, postdoctoral staff and recent graduates. Karen is also a member of the senior management team of The Careers Group, University of London, UCL Careers’ parent body.
Previously, Karen taught physics in the UK and South America. Karen was instrumental in setting up and becoming Head of the first secondary school in Bogota, Colombia to offer the full British curriculum to expatriate and local students.
- Katy Coyte, Senior Analytics & Student Surveys Manager
Katy provides data services and is a specialist in employability data for UCL. She is responsible for analysing and reporting on Careers data sets, and coordinates the Graduate Outcomes survey. She also produces dashboards to support effective decision-making and promote understanding of UCL students, and advises on data protection.
She has degrees in English Literature and Language from University of Hull and Data Science from Birkbeck College, University of London.
- Wendy Browne, Associate Director (HEDS, Development & Planning)
Wendy leads the Development & Planning team, bringing together the areas in HEDS responsible for business development, curriculum planning, data, research and analytics, student engagement / partnership and employer engagement. The role seeks to maximise cross-functional working across HEDS and brings together colleagues from both Arena and Careers into one team.
