My interest is the application of mathematical techniques to sequencing data to better understand the bacterial communities that live inside our bodies. I'm particularly interested in investigating reciprocal interactions between the gut microbiome and the developing immune system in children. I hope to use data from patients with immune deficiencies at Great Ormond Street Hospital to investigate this further. I'm predominantly based at the UCL Institute for Child Health.

I originally studied physics at Oxford (2009-2013). After deciding to move into computational biology, I joined the UCL CoMPLEX programme in 2013 and studied for an MRes in 'Modelling Biological Complexity'. I started my PhD in October 2014.
