BASc Study Abroad Project (BASC0035)

Here you will find information relating to BASc Study Abroad Project and Vlog (BASC0035).

To practise and further develop your language skills and advance your level while you are on your year abroad.

The next level up from the one you have just completed at the CLIE. E.g. if you took German level 3 in 2017-2018 then your BASC Study Abroad Project and Vlog are at German Level 4.

You should identify an aspect in the CLIE language module Project you completed in 2017-2018 that you would like to research further, and use this as the basis for your Study Abroad Project. You must not reuse content from your previous Project.

There are several stages in order to support and guide you:

Proposal: to be submitted by email to the CLIE language tutor you had in 2017-2018 by 15 June 2018.

Draft: Submit a draft of the first part of your Project (approximately 40% of the UPPER word limit for your level) by email by 27 March 2019. You will then receive feedback on structure, content and any main grammatical issues.

Your Project (and Vlog) must be submitted by 26 June 2019 at 17:00 GMT. You will receive feedback on both components.

CLIE Project Marking Criteria will be used; which can be found in the CLIE Modules Student Handbook.

A 5-minute oral summary of your Study Abroad Project (similar to the presentation of your Project that you give as part of your CLIE Oral Examination).

Your Vlog (and Project) must be submitted by 26 June 2019 at 17:00 GMT.

CLIE Oral Examination marking Criteria will be used.
