About the project

The first generation of national artificial intelligence strategies tried to bridge ethics and competitiveness, but left gaps in how to govern the direction of AI in a world of changing global competition and geopolitics. This project seeks to address these gaps, creating the analytic tools for different levels of governance to understand the state and future of directionality in AI innovation ecosystems. Building on this foundational research, IIPP will bridge academia and policy, creating the foundations assessing, designing, and building the next generations of mission and purpose oriented AI strategies.
