Kavian Kulasabanathan

Kavian Kulasabanathan is a student in the 2022-23 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).

Kavian Kulasabanathan
Kavian is a physician focused on state violence as a determinant of poor health. From this starting point, he is interested in uses of the collective imagination, community-led models of care and place-making in journeying toward salutogenic, liberated futures.

Kavian has an interdisciplinary background across clinical, academic and policy spaces at national and international levels. However, he believes radical transformation can only be people-powered, starting at the unit of the community. He organises with Race & Health and People’s Health Movement. He currently focuses on the areas of abolitionist public health and the intersections of health, colonialism and ecological dysregulation.
