Julie McLaren is a student in the 2020-21 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Julie is currently Director of a UK-based consultancy specialising in research strategy and working with higher education, cultural and creative organisations. A social scientist by training, she has held several senior positions in the UK Research Councils (now UKRI) and leading research strategy in a Russell Group university. Her interests include purpose-driven research and innovation, diversity and inclusion in public policy making, cultural and creative industries policy and investment, and new economic thinking more generally.
