Jonathan Nylander is a student in the 2022-23 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Jonathan is a technologist, educator and climate activist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of Skövde. After graduation, he began working in education focused on self-directed learning and founded a makerspace after-school club for children in Stockholm. Jonathan has been based in Beijing for the past five years working with some of China’s most innovative schools and education companies. He is interested in systems thinking, especially the Batesonian school of thought and is a certified Warm Data Lab host. During his studies, Jonathan aims to explore innovation policy with insights from systems theory and ecological economics. He enjoys playing music, reading and drinking Chinese tea.
