Isabel Sargent

Dr Sargent is a student in the 2022-23 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).

Isabel is a researcher with over 20 years' experience of defining, leading, and completing research in environmental science and artificial intelligence (AI). Her focus is in the application of neural networks to aerial and satellite imagery, developing methods for extracting data for environmental and social applications. Recently she has expanded her attention to ethical practice in geospatial AI. She has been an industrial supervisor for 8 PhDs and particularly enjoys working with research students. As a campaigner on local and global environmental issues, she is keen to understand how economics, politics and innovation can be applied to creating a thriving world for all its inhabitants.
