Two BSP students awarded the UCL Faculty Undergraduate Scholarship for Excellence

We are proud to announce that, having been nominated by The Bartlett School of Planning, two undergraduate students, Matt Xi and Bosco Choi have been awarded the UCL Faculty Undergraduate Scholarship for Excellence at The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment.

Bosco Choi, BSc in Urban Planning, Design, and Management, was awarded the Scholarship for Excellence as the best year 1 Undergraduate for his academic achievements, having achieved an average of 73.8% during his first year, and for his commitment to extra-curricular activities, having contributed to the activities of the school as a year mentor and now as BUPS career officer. Bosco has also worked as a planning intern at Arup and volunteered for the Cody Dock project conducting water quality testing, biodiversity tracking and tree-planting for the Dock. 

Matt Xi, BSc in Urban Studies, was awarded the Scholarship for Excellence as the best year 2 Undergraduate for his academic achievements, having achieved an average of 79.0 across his second-year modules and for his continuous contributions to The Bartlett Urban Planning Society and to the School’s activities as year 2 student rep. The award also recognises Matt’s success outside The Bartlett: he was the member of a students’ group shortlisted as a finalist for the Mayor of London’s Design Future London Challenge and he represented Singapore in the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games 2022, his team achieving a 6th position in the Weiqi/Go competition.
