IGP Director Professor Moore's evidence to the The Environmental Audit Committee's (EAC) inquiry in the House of Commons, on 'Aligning the UK's economic goals with environmental sustainability'
Prof. Moore presented evidence to the Environmental Audit Committee in the House of Commons as part of their inquiry, 'Aligning the UK's economic goals with environmental sustainability' on Wednesday 2nd of March.
Professor Moore highlighted IGP's work on citizen-led prosperity indices and how undertaking a place-based approach that accounts for the specific histories and contexts in each place are more suitable measures than GDP in assessing prosperity, quality of life and welfare. Towards the end of the session, Professor Moore called for the ONS to publish 10 statistics on various factors such as air, water, carbon sequestration alongside it’s GDP figures as well as, producing a ‘State of a Nation’ report released at Christmas, stating the work the UK has undertaken in the last year.
