It was today announced that Kasim Ali (Graduate, MSc Global Prosperity), has won a selection of a Safe Labour Council Seat in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Kasim takes the position following the resignation of Councillor Robert Thompson who has moved to another part of London to take up a new post. He has lived locally in Notting Dale for many years and is very aware of the issues and concerns of all Dalgarno residents. Alongside his studies, Kasim has a background in community organising and as a charity project manager.

After the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire, Kasim ran six marathons and one 'ultra-marathon' in seven days to raise £50,000 for a local charity dedicated to working for the children and young people of North Kensington who were directly and indirectly affected by the disaster.

Kasim will take part in the by-election in the Dalgarno ward on Thursday 21 March 2019.
