Join us to celebrate the publication of Financing Prosperity by Dealing with Debt (Edited by Dr Christopher Harker & Dr Amy Horton). The book draws together contributions from leading academic and non-academic experts working on debt to develop innovative thinking about how we finance the lives we want in the face of historically high and rising levels of household indebtedness. Contributions answer the questions: What are the solutions or escape routes for those enduring such debts, and for transforming the institutions and practices producing them? With household debt at historic highs, how do we finance a prosperous life without becoming over indebted? Is there a way out of debt-dependency for individuals and the economy?

The book is the first in the Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP)’s new book series with UCL Press. The “Global Prosperity Thought & Practice” book series introduces new methodological and theoretical approaches to engage with diverse ideas about what it means to live a prosperous life in different places and under varied conditions. The series draws together accounts of research and practice that build new pathways to a sustainable and prosperous global future.

This will be an informal event with short speeches, a drinks reception, and a chance to meet the editors and contributors.

The book will be available to download for free, and printed copies can also be purchased from UCL Press.
