Diversity and Inclusion are two of the most used and abused words in the workplace today. Few would dispute that they represent some of the greatest challenges facing leaders in the 21st Century workplace. Yet, there is little consensus on what it means or how it is to be achieved in a modern organisation. Here we will briefly explore the contemporary context of Diversity and Inclusion, the 3 biggest problems that organisations experience in their endeavours to become inclusive, and some insights into how an organisation can create an inclusive environment.

Dr Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey

Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey is a globally recognised authority on Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. He has a PhD from the London School of Economics and understands the science behind inclusive organisational behaviour. He is the host of The Element of Inclusion; a weekly podcast that informs and educates using applied research and thought leadership. He leads a monthly Book Club where he reviews books related to Diversity and Inclusion.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, contributed to the McGregor Smith Report and worked with the Cabinet Office and organisations including Aviva Insurance, Sony Pictures, Conde Nast, Fosters & Partners and the CIPD as well as the Cabinet Office and contributed to the Government backed McGregor Smith Report. Jonathan is currently writing a book to support his mission to help one million people around the world to make the workplace inclusive.
