Join the UCL’s Skate Club for an afternoon celebrating all forms of skating at City Mill Pool Street, close to the new UCL East campus on the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. UCL students can enjoy free tuition from Learn To Skateboard or simply enjoy the new skate space at City Mill.

The event is organised by the UCL Skate Club in collaboration with the Office of the Pro-Provost UCL East and City Mill Skate. We are offering all UCL students a programme of free skate lessons provided by our partners at Learn To Skateboard. Refreshments will be available.

There are three lessons on offer: taking place at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm, with tuition offered to riders of all abilities by the experienced instructors from Learn To Skateboard. All skateboards, obstacles, and safety equipment will be provided. You are welcome to arrive earlier and have a skate of course.

Skate Days at UCL East

Skate Day at UCL East is part of a wider set of initiatives across UCL that seek to broaden participation in education and change perceptions of what attending university can be like. Since 2020, City Mill Skate has been building a diverse community of skateboarders around the site of the UCL East campus.

As part of the afternoon, you will be invited to share your thoughts in a chat about City Mill Skate and its role as a shared community space.

Come and meet the Skate club and get some fresh air in January!
