Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Teaching Administrator to join our team to manage our new Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources BSc and MEng which commences in September 2023. This is the first undergraduate course for the department. The appointed person will have a key role in ensuring effective procedures are developed, documented and implemented for all aspects of the programme prior to its launch.

The role will include management for all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of undergraduate students from enquiry to completion, incorporating organisation of committees and processes relating to assessment, student and programme records. The post holder will line manage two Grade 6 members of the Education Team. This will involve setting objectives, supervising and managing workloads.

The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources is a fast growing, internationally renowned School for cross disciplinary research with economists, energy modellers, social scientists, building engineers, physicists and heritage specialists all working to mitigate climate change. We are launching this new undergraduate course to educate the next generation providing vital skills needed to help design and create a more sustainable future.


Key Requirements

Educated to A level standard, the successful candidate will have experience of administering an undergraduate course. They will have a record of successful line management and development of staff with proven team leadership and motivational skills, or appropriate training with a view to stepping up to line management.

The post holder must be proactive, efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail.

Experience of introducing policies, procedures and systems effectively is essential and in addition, the role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook are required.
