PhD Research Projects 2023

PhD Research Projects 2023 is the seventeenth annual exhibition of doctoral research at The Bartlett School of Architecture.

The accompanying publication, edited by Dr Stylianos Giamarelos and Katerina Zacharopoulou, presents the work of PhD students from two of the school’s world-renowned doctoral programmes: Architectural Design MPhil/PhD and Architectural and Urban History and Theory MPhil/PhD. This year, the publication also includes contributions from students from Architectural Practice MPhil/PhD, as well as from The Bartlett Development Planning Unit and The UCL Institute for Global Prosperity.

Leading to a PhD in Architecture, The Bartlett School of Architecture's doctoral programmes encourage originality and creativity. Over 90 students are currently enrolled, and the range of research subjects undertaken is broad. This diversity is reflected in the selection of projects documented in the publication, which address topics such as decolonising design methods, welfare policy and ecological architectural craft, among others.

A digital edition of the book is available to read for free via Issuu. Physical copies can be purchased through Amazon
