This module provides a general background to the organisation and history of Roman coinage.

A survey of Roman coinage from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD, including organisation and history of the coinage, hoards and site finds, copies and forgeries, the analysis and use of archaeological assemblages, and practice in identification.
