Sue Hamilton, who was Director of the Institute from 2014-2022, has now taken on the role of Vice-Dean, Research, Innovation and Global Engagement, in the UCL Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences (SHS).

On Monday 19 October, UCL hosted a delegation from Finland’s top universities. Sue and Faculty colleagues, including the SHS Executive Dean, Prof Jennifer Hudson, spoke about the Faculty’s key research initiatives and possible future collaborations.

Afterwards, they were hosted at the Finnish Ambassador’s Residence for a debate on wellbeing.

UCL’s connections to Europe are both numerous and impactful - with a community of more than 3,000 European staff, 6,000 European students and 2,000 European collaborative partners - while UCL academics have an outstanding track record in collaborative research with European partners and securing EC research funding.
