Job Vacancy: Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Islamic Archaeology

The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Islamic Archaeology (Ref.: B03-01787). The deadline for applications is 25 October 2023.
A part-time (80%FTE) Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Islamic Archaeology is sought to teach core and option modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students, to build the profile of Islamic archaeology at the UCL Institute of Archaeology, and to contribute more generally to teaching and administration as required.
The post is funded for 2 years from 1 January 2024 until 31 December 2025, providing cover for Corisande Fenwick for the period when she will be on research leave as PI of an ERC-funded project.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in archaeology, art history, or a related field, with a specific research focus on the pre-modern Islamic world. Candidates must be able to deliver undergraduate and Masters modules in Islamic archaeology and heritage, as well as deliver and contribute to other modules at undergraduate and Masters level in world archaeology or archaeological science or heritage in line with their subject and regional expertise.
Applications from candidates whose teaching strengths include late antique archaeology and/or cultural heritage are especially welcomed.
