Job Vacancy: Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Chinese Archaeology

The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Chinese Archaeology (Ref.:1885281). The deadline for applications is 8 July 2022.

A full-time Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Cultural Heritage is sought to co-ordinate the MA degree in Archaeology and Heritage of Asia, and teach three undergraduate and Master's-level modules, and to contribute more generally to teaching and administration as required.

The post-holder will teach at all levels and be responsible for lecturing and tutorials, supervising dissertations and marking assignments.

The post is available from 1 September 2022 and is funded until 30 September 2023, providing cover for Yijie Zhuang for the period when he will be on a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship.


The successful candidate will have a PhD in Archaeology, Archaeological Science or Physical Anthropology, with a specific research focus on Chinese Archaeology. Candidates must be able to deliver three undergraduate and Master's-level modules (terms 1 and 2) and tutorials in Chinese archaeology as well as deliver and contribute to other modules at undergraduate and Master's level in Asian archaeology in line with their subject expertise.
