Job Vacancy: Assistant to the Academic Administrator

The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for an Assistant to the Academic Administrator (Ref.:1881069). The deadline for applications is 5 January 2022.

An Assistant to the Academic Administrator is sought to help with the management and running of the teaching, examining and pastoral functions of the Institute of Archaeology in relation to 400 students enrolled for the 25 undergraduate and Masters degrees offered by the Institute and circa. 150 inter-departmental students.

The post-holder must be flexible, patient, sympathetic to the needs of students, keep to deadlines and be able to multi-task in a busy office. Excellent IT skills will be especially important, as will an ability to work with members of academic staff holding major tutorial posts.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of administrative tasks in a University or Higher Education environment and will understand the types of problems faced by students and will be committed to supporting staff and students. A knowledge or interest in archaeology is not essential but would be advantageous.
