University Archaeology Day 2020
21 October 2020
UCL Institute of Archaeology staff and students are participating in the University Archaeology Day 2020 - a virtual event this year - to highlight how an archaeology degree can open doors to all kinds of careers.
UCL archaeologists worked with experts from 24 other universities to create the UK's first University Archaeology Day in 2017, aimed at inspiring a much needed next generation of archaeologists. The event now takes place annually with this year's University Archaeology Day being held virtually on 22 October.
The University Archaeology Day 2020 will consist of a day of online lectures, seminars, careers talks, meet and greets and more! Universities from around the UK will have staff and students available to answer questions live online on the day while pre-prepared lectures and videos about various Archaeology departments will be available to view.
This free event is designed for prospective students, teachers and parents to learn about the many degree programmes on offer across the UK, to discover the huge range of career opportunities that an archaeology degree can lead to, and to hear about some of the latest archaeological research.
Archaeology is a very broad subject that combines arts, humanities and sciences and is great for developing both academic and practical skills. Interested participants should join the virtual University Archaeology Day 2020 to find out all they need to know about an archaeology degree.
