Organiser

Dr Patrick Quinn

The Ceramic Technology Research Network (CTRN) aims to bring together Institute of Archaeology staff and early stage researchers interested in the study of ancient ceramic technology and to organise focused group activities that cross-cut the wide spectrum of archaeological ceramics research at the Institute.

The network's interest covers earthenware pottery, high-fired glazed ceramics, as well as a range of other related artefacts. It is concerned with archaeometric methods of studying ancient ceramic technology, as well as traditional macroscopic approaches, and experimental and ethnographic perspectives.

This will take place between 4-5pm via the CTRN Microsoft Teams (please contact Patrick Quinn for access). All staff and students are welcome, particularly undergraduates, masters or research students studying or interested in ceramics and their analysis.

Please get in touch with Patrick Quinn if you are interested in joining the network or have an idea for a group event.
