Ben Stern (University of Bradford) will give a lecture organised by the Ceramic Technology Research Network at the UCL Institute of Archaeology on 21 January.
The Ceramic Technology Research Network aims to bring together Institute of Archaeology staff and early stage researchers interested in the study of ancient ceramic technology and to organise focused group activities that cross-cut the wide spectrum of archaeological ceramics research at the Institute.
The network's interest covers earthenware pottery, high-fired glazed ceramics, as well as a range of other related artefacts. It is concerned with archaeometric methods of studying ancient ceramic technology, as well as traditional macroscopic approaches, and experimental and ethnographic perspectives.
All staff and students are welcome.
Please get in touch with Patrick Quinn if you are interested in joining the network or have an idea for a group event.
