Researchers from institutions across the UK will consider future directions for the conservation profession at a special afternoon event at the UCL Institute of Archaeology on 18 June.
This UCL/British Museum workshop will bring together conservators and conservation students to address challenges conservation professionals and students are likely to confront in the near future, such as the use of new technologies in conservation, the need to increase diversity, public outreach, issues relating to conservation skills (cross-disciplinarity vs specialisation) and employability.
The afternoon will begin with a
series of ten-minute papers, followed by guest panelists offering views
from different perspectives and complemented by a wine reception at the
end of the day.
Organisers: Anna Buelow and Renata F. Peters
