Professor Joseph Dias MB BS, FRCS (Ed) (Ortho), MD
Professor Dias is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been head of the Orthopaedic Surgery Division at the University Hospital of Leicester since 1991. He is also a Professor of Hand and Orthopaedic Surgery with an extensive CV, including being President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2008 and Editor in Chief of the Journal of Hand Surgery from 2008-2011.
He is Acting Head of the Clinical Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Leicester where the main research theme is the outcome of joint replacement, based on a large prospectively collected database.
Professor Dias is President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, Secretary of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Orthopaedic Research Society, Association of Professors of Orthopaedic Surgery, Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand, FESSH and IFSSH.
