Dr James Nelson awarded a £96k EPSRC grant

The project "Multiresolution Markov Models for Detecting Radial Patterns of
Spicules in Mammograms" will develop statistical image analysis/computer vision
methodology to improve the detection of cancerous abnormalities in mammogram
images.
The grant will fund a research associate position in the Department. Along
with Dr Nelson, the post-holder will be supported by Professor Stuart Taylor (from
the Centre for Medical Imaging and University College London Hospital) and Dr Hela Sbano (a
consultant radiologist in the Breast Unit at University College London
Hospital).
