Overcoming Low Confidence
Course Description:

This course will enable you to understand the factors that influence confidence and equip you with techniques to sustainably increase confidence over time. We will introduce evidence-based tools, founded on leading social cognitive theory.

  • Understanding different kinds of confidence
  • Social cognitive theories of personality and self-efficacy
  • Factors influencing levels of confidence 
  • Deconstructing confidence beliefs
  • Confidence building in the University context
  • A wide range of evidence-based strategies for building confidence in academic scenarios

 

 


Objectives:

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Reflect on your own experiences of underconfidence
  • Understand the factors that impact levels of confidence
  • Challenge your own confidence beliefs by deconstructing them
  • Be aware of a wide range of evidence-based tools and approaches to building confidence
  • Assess which strategies would be most appropriate to apply in your own situations
