Course Description: This one hour course, is for staff involved in in the transport of dangerous goods.
To provide awareness of the different regulation framework and context. To show the correct procedures and point staff to competent packers, consignors and couriers and report incidents as required.
This course covers:
The legislative framework - UN, ADR, IMDG, ICAO / IATA, UK Road Regulations
Incidents with dangerous goods.
Responsibilities of the parties ? shipper, consignor, operator, courier, post room.
Hidden dangerous goods (clinical trial samples, chemicals and other items)
Awareness of:
Classes of dangerous goods
UN numbers
Proper shipping names
Packaging ? UN specification, limited quantities, excepted quantities
Labelling of packages
Documentation ? an overview of the dangerous goods note and the shipper?s
declaration
The role of the Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA)

What to expect when dangerous goods are delivered
