Urban Laboratory Co-Director Prof Matthew Beaumont takes part in a conversation at the Museum of London, to accompany their ongoing exhibition London Nights.
Chaired by photographer, writer, curator and lecturer Lewis Bush, the panel discussion and Q&A will explore the darker side of London at night, alongside an opportunity to visit
the exhibition.
The panel will include:
- Mitra Tabrizan, whose project 'you don't know what nights are like?' commissioned by Art on the Underground, depicts the marginalised and often invisible night-time workers of the city
- Matthew Beaumont, author and academic, will speak about his book Nightwalking: A Nocturnal History of London, which explores the mysterious and frequently threatening nature of the night in London from the Middle Ages to the present day
-
Rut Blees Luxemburg,
leading night-time photographer, whose work explores London by night,
using long exposure times to illuminate that which is overlooked in the city
