A one day symposium featuring academics, activists, and members of the LGBTQ community presenting on the theme of LGBTQ venues closing around London. 

The symposium is organised by the National Trust, inspired by the Save Sutton House Campaign in the 1980s. 

Featuring a keynote speech from London's first Night Czar Amy Lamé, the day also includes presentations from Dr Ben Campkin and Laura Marshall from UCL Urban Laboratory.

New generation, New Geography - Amelia Abraham (writer for Vice, Dazed i-D and Refinery 29)

Intervention for Preservation: Queering the venue with Unskinny Bop - Tamsin Bookey (co-founder of Unskinny Bop)

Light After Dark: The Queer London Club Scene, Memories and the Future - Kat Hudson (Curator of Light After Dark exhibition at Sutton House)

The CAMPerVAN - Samuel Douek (Founder of CAMPerVAN- a transportable queer performance and community space)

A light lunch will be served, as well as teas and coffees, and the symposium will close with a performance from Samuel Douek.

The event takes place on the ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible, and we have a gender neutral and accessible toilet.
