Artist,
writer and psychogeographer Laura Oldfield Ford and musician, sound engineer and producer Jack Latham will join us at the next Stadtklang music evening at the Arcola
Theatre Bar in Dalston on Sunday 7 May.
They will present and discuss new sound work, commissioned by the Showroom Gallery, using field recordings taken during experimental, critically-engaged walks or 'dérives' in Edgware Road.
Laura Oldfield Ford is author of the Savage Messiah zines which were published in book form by Verso in 2011. Jack Latham as Jam City is the creator of the critically-acclaimed albums Classical Curves (2012) and To Dream a Garden (2015).
Stadtklang is UCL Urban Laboratory's music night - exploring the sounds of the city in a convivial environment.
All welcome, free entry and no prior booking required. Please like the Stadtklang Facebook page to hear more about upcoming events.
The Arcola Theatre is only 100 metres
from Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction on the Overground, and with plenty
of buses passing nearby. The bar is fully accessible to wheelchair-users.
