Award-winning poet and rapper Kate Tempest will be speaking and performing at UCL on Thursday 10 December 2015.

Winner of the Forward Poetry Prize and shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in 2014, Kate will read from her work and discuss the relationship between poetry and performance.

Her debut novel, The Bricks that Built the Houses (Bloomsbury, 2016) takes us into the beating heart of London in a multi-generational tale of drugs, desire and belonging.

She is a Visiting Fellow (2015-16) within the UCL English Department, working with Urban Laboratory Co-Director and Cities Imaginaries coordinator Matthew Beaumont.
