UCL Urban Laboratory Co-Director Camillo Boano and UCL Development Planning Unit colleagues William Hunter and Caroline Newton will be hosting a launch for their new book Contested Urbanism in Dharavi : Writings and projects for the resilient city which highlights field research and studio-based projects on Dharavi, Mumbai conducted with DPU students from 2009 to 2012. The collection of essays, photography, and student work illustrates both the theoretical underpinnings and pedagogical ethos of the MSc Building and Urban Design in Development.

Joining the authors in an informal introductory dialogue will be Prof. Alan Penn (Dean of The Bartlett, UCL), Prof. Jeremy Till (Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London), Prof. Jane Rendell (The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, Urban Laboratory Steering Committee) and Prof. David Satterthwaite (International Institute for Environment and Development and DPU). The dialogue will be followed by a drinks reception.
