We will shortly be celebrating the set-up of our 20th Community of Practice
26 February 2020
Last year we set up 10 Communities of Practice across a range of service areas. Over the coming months we will be setting up our 19th and 20th and in April will be hosting an event to celebrate the work of the communities so far.
There are currently 18 Communities of Practice (CoP) at UCL, spread across 8 service areas, with a membership of over 2,000 professional services and academic staff. This year we are continuing to grow our communities and are working towards our vision of all staff having the opportunity to join a CoP that is relevant to their role and career development.
Our latest and upcoming communities
We have now formally launched all CoPs within Student and Registry Services and held events earlier this month for Widening Participation (WP) and Programme Administration (Taught). These communities bring together colleagues working to support students from across UCL to work on projects that they’ve identified to be important to their areas. Among these projects:
- the Widening Participation CoP are developing an expert network for WP policy and evaluation, raising the profile of UCL’s WP related research with internal and national sector audiences;
- and the Programme Administration CoP are developing a Programme Administrator Toolkit to establish an up-to-date, easily navigable resource for Programme Administration staff.
In December 2019 we set up our 18th CoP. The Research Support: Post-Award Management CoP was set up for staff who are involved in supporting the management of funded research projects at all stages of the post-award lifecycle.
And we’re now in the process of setting up our 19th and 20th CoPs – IT Systems Management and Service Delivery, and Partnership Development (Innovation and Enterprise).
