UCL is celebrating re-certification to ISO14001

17 July 2019

UCL achieves ISO 14001 re-certification - a recognition of the Universities effective environmental management.

Green League Award

UCL is celebrating recertification to ISO14001: 2015 standard following a successful external surveillance audit by NQA on our Environmental Sustainability Management System (ESMS).

The Environmental Sustainability Management System covers all of UCL’s UK operations, and therefore is at the heart of embedding sustainability across the University.  It offers a systematic and transparent way of managing our environmental objectives and targets, reducing the impacts and ensuring compliance against environmental legislation.

Achieving and keeping certification to the standard further demonstrates the commitment and leadership for sustainability which exists at the University.

As part of this year’s audit, the auditor conducted a site tour of The Royal Free Hospitality, to see how the system is working across our estate. A thank you to all the staff involved in the audit process, including those at The Royal Free, who took time to demonstrate how UCL is managing its impacts.
