Statistical Science researchers publish new methods on visualising networks as connection surfaces in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
29 October 2014
Networks are generally visualised using a "spaghetti plot" of entities under study, and the linkages between them. This becomes unfeasible as the networks grow in size, as the plots cannot convey any meaningful information. New methods for visualising such large networks have been proposed by Statistical Science researchers, building on the fundamental notion of a histogram representation of a density.
