Module description

This module aims to provide students with the tools to implement computational approaches to statistical modelling, inference and testing, including an understanding of what can and cannot be achieved with computational approaches, and an introduction to the mathematical ideas underpinning some of the key computational approaches of the previous century.

One of COMP0015 / COMP0043, and STAT0008

Registration process

STAT0044 is offered as an elective to Masters students. Prospective elective students who have taken the standard prerequisites should simply register for STAT0044 on Portico and await a decision. Prospective elective students who do not satisfy the standard prerequisiters must additionally consult a member of staff in the Department of Statistical Science.
